I adore this flowy blue dress. Its a really great buy with super value for money. I bought it from Hi Fashion - yes, the chinese shop! It comes in a number of colours and suits any figure. Its also great if you're pregnant and you don't want to go the maternity wear route. What I love most about the dress is that its versatile. You can wear it day or night.
The Daytime Look:
I wore it with a scarf and gold studded pointy-pumps two weeks ago when I was assisting with library duty at my daughters' school library. I got a number of compliments that day! Even some of the chlidren told me I looked pretty! I think this was because I wasn't wearing jeans or gym wear (which is what they usually see me in when I'm doing library or morning drop-offs).
I'm usually in flats and these pumps will go with practically anything. Wear them with a maxi dress, jeans, shorts...anything! The studded look is also on trend this season.
The Evening Look:
This is a more formal version of how to wear the dress. You can even rock this look during the day, depending on the weather and what the occasion is. The gold neck-piece and belt, and the navy sequined pumps add a dramatic twist.
The wonderful thing about blue is that you can wear it with both gold and/or silver accessories. This neck piece is a smaller version of the majestic collar necklaces worn by Queens and Pharaohs in the days of Ancient Egypt. It gives the ensemble that 'regal' feel.
I just love these sequined pumps by Steve Madden. I got them two years ago, and I also have them in gold. They add sparkle to the simplest of outfits.
Did you wear blue today? I'd love to hear from you.
